Mandy (1952)
Londen, begin jaren vijftig. Mandy is doof geboren en is het grootste deel van haar jeugd stom. Nu ze de leerplichtige leeftijd bereikt, dreigt haar familie zelf uiteen te vallen. Christine, Mandy's moeder, heeft gehoord van een residentiële school voor mondeling onderwijs aan doven.
