Memory & Desire (1998)
Sayo en Keiji zijn naar Nieuw-Zeeland gevlucht om te trouwen, weg van de tussenkomst van Keiji's afkeurende moeder in Japan. Tijdens hun huwelijksreis hebben ze de vrijheid om hun liefde te uiten, buiten haar repressieve invloed. Maar op wat de gelukkigste dag zou moeten zijn, verdrinkt Keiji en moet Sayo, volgens de gewoonte, terugkeren om bij haar wrede en egoïstische schoonmoeder te gaan wonen.
