De carrière van de Franse stripauteur René Goscinny was een levendige vermenging van culturen en een uitdrukking van het grote belang dat deze kunstenaar hechtte aan de productie en verspreiding van een verfijnde populaire cultuur. Goscinny liet een uiterst uitgebreid oeuvre na: 'Asterix', 'Lucky Luke', 'Isnogud', 'Little Nick' en anderen.
