The Skin Game (1931)
Mr. Hornblower Edmund Gwenn heeft een stuk land gekocht van de Engelse grondbezitter Hillcrest C.V. France met de belofte het land niet in ontwikkeling te brengen. Als Hornblower er toch industrie wil vestigen is Hillcrest furieus. Hillcrest wil op alle mogelike manieren verhinderen dat de plannen doorgaan. Maar telkens is Hornblower hem te slim af. Totdat hij iets ontdekt over Cloe Hornblower Phyllis Konstam, waardoor Hillcrest zijn rivaal kan chanteren. In ruil voor geheimhouding moet Hornblower afzien van zijn plannen.
