Omagh (2005)
Omagh, 15 augustus 1998. Een kleine groep dissidenten van het IRA, die het vredesproces in Noord-Ierland willen boycotten, plegen een bomaanslag in het vredige markstadje Omagh waarbij 31 slachtoffers vallen. De film beschrijft de gebeurtenissen en de nasleep van deze tragische dag, en belicht vooral het personage van Michael Gallagher die bij de aanslag zijn 21-jarige zoon verloor. Samen met familieleden van andere slachtoffers begint hij een lange zoektocht naar gerechtigheid, maar stuit daarbij op politieke onwil. Zijn charisma en vastberadenheid maken hem algauw tot de woordvoerder van een vereniging die koste wat het kost de waarheid achter deze bloedige aanslag wil ontdekken. Zijn moeilijke en veeleisende rol als bemiddelaar wegen echter zwaar door op Michaels privé-leven...
