Transamerica (2005)
Bree is een conservatieve transseksueel. Ze werkt hard en spaart elke cent om de laatste operatie te kunnen betalen, die van haar eindelijk een echte vrouw zal maken. Dan krijgt ze een telefoontje van een zekere Toby, die haar zoon blijkt te zijn, veroorzaakt door een onhandig avontuurtje. Toby blijkt ook nog eens in de gevangenis te zitten in New York. Bree gaat op aanraden van haar therapeute dan toch maar naar New York om haar zoon op te halen. Deze heeft geen enkel idee hoe de vork in de steel zit en Bree besluit dat voorlopig maar zo te houden.
