The Future (2011)
Sophie (Miranda July) en Jason (Hamish Linklater), een echtpaar van in de dertig, woont samen in hun gelukkige, dromerige, 'hipster'-achtige en poëtische wereld. Op een dag, als ze door een bazaar voor ambachten lopen, kopen ze het portret van een klein meisje, geschilderd door haar eigen vader. Om bepaalde redenen die zij zelf niet kan plaatsen, begint Sophie de vader van het meisje te stalken en te volgen, ondanks dat hij haar tegenpool is, naar haar smaak. En hoe dieper haar inmenging in zijn leven wordt, des te meer haar en Jasons leven op zijn kop gezet wordt, en hun relatie op de proef wordt gesteld.
