Nadat ze op elfjarige leeftijd het familiebedrijf verloor bij een brand, besluit Reena Hale (Alicia Witt) rechercheur te worden voor de brandweer van haar stad. De vlammen spelen haar echter weer parten als haar verloofde omkomt bij een explosie. Ondanks haar pijn besluit ze niet op te geven totdat ze de persoon vindt die verantwoordelijk is voor de moord op haar vriend.
