The Panama Papers (2018)
Premiers, presidenten, voetballers, sjeiks en emirs raakten begin 2016 in opspraak door onthullingen uit de Panama Papers, gelekte documenten van juridisch advieskantoor Mossack Fonseca. Het kostte diverse regeringsleiders hun baan. In deze documentaire vertellen redacteuren van de Süddeutsche Zeitung hoe de zaak een jaar eerder begon toen een anonieme klokkenluider een enorme hoeveelheid geheime data over grootscheepse belastingontduiking aanbood. Al snel beseften ze de omvang van de belastende informatie en besloten ze de hulp in te roepen van onderzoeksjournalisten uit alle hoeken van de wereld, waaronder die van de Nederlandse kranten Trouw en Het Financieele Dagblad, om alles door te spitten.
