Meek's Cutoff (2011)
In het jaar 1845, in de eerste dagen van de Oregon Trail (3400 km lange route die begin 19e eeuw gebruikt werd door de Amerikaanse pioniers), neemt een groep van drie families de bergbewoner Stephen Meek in de arm om hen over de Cascade Mountains te gidsen. Meek beweert een binnenweg te kennen en leidt de groep langs een onbekende weg over de woestijnachtige hoogvlakte om uiteindelijk te verdwalen in de droge rotsachtige woestenij. De komende dagen zullen de emigranten geplaagd worden door honger, dorst en hun gebrek aan vertrouwen in elkaars overlevingsinstinct. Wanneer ze een indiaan tegenkomen moet de groep kiezen tussen een onbetrouwbare gids en een man die altijd al hun natuurlijke vijand is geweest.
