Een romanschrijfster verhuist naar een klein stadje om haar volgende roman te schrijven. Ze zoekt inspiratie en naarmate de tijd verstrijkt, verzamelt ze informatie over haar buurman, een jonge, rijke man die ze observeert, vanuit haar raam. Ze wordt al snel verdachte in een moordonderzoek vanwege haar vreemde gedrag en teruggetrokken levensstijl. Ze moet vechten om haar onschuld aan te tonen.
