Bugles in the Afternoon (1952)
Amerika, tijdens de Amerikaanse Burgeroorlog (1861-1865): Na een gevecht met luitenant Garnett (Hugh Marlowe) wordt kapitein Shafter (Ray Milland) gedegradeerd tot soldaat. Garnett maakt schaamteloos misbruik van zijn hogere rang en stuurt Shafter op steeds meer zelfmoordmissies. Maar Shafter is taai, moedig en heeft geluk. Het feit dat de rivalen verliefd worden op dezelfde vrouw (Helena Carter) maakt de situatie er niet makkelijker op. Een grandioze confrontatie volgt in de legendarische Slag bij Little Big Horn...
