Our Idiot Brother (2011)
Ned ziet het goede in elke situatie en in iedereen, waardoor hij vaak botst met de rest van de wereld – vooral met z’n familie. Nadat hij een tijdje heeft gezeten als straf voor het dealen van marihuana, trekt Ned in bij z’n oudste zus Liz, een hooggespannen moeder van twee. Hij helpt mee in de opvoeding van haar zevenjarige zoon River, maar zijn versie van wat grappig is voor kinderen strookt niet met die van z’n zuster. Nadat hij het leven van Liz op z’n kop heeft gezet, trekt hij in bij de middelste zus Miranda, een gedreven journaliste. Hij maakt al snel een potje van haar grote doorbraak en verstoort haar voorzichtig opgebouwde liefdesleven. Hij moet dan maar naar z’n jongste zus Natalie, wier wilde verleden als kind haar geluk dreigt te vernietigen. Overal waar Ned komt laat hij chaos achter, maar uiteindelijk ook een zweem van waarheid en geluk.
