Memory Box (2021)
Maia, een alleenstaande moeder, woont in Montreal met haar tienerdochter Alex. Op kerstavond ontvangen ze een onverwachte levering: notitieboekjes, cassettebandjes en foto's die Maia, van 13 tot 18 jaar oud, vanuit Beiroet heeft gestuurd naar haar beste vriendin die naar Parijs vertrok om aan de burgeroorlog te ontsnappen. Maia weigert de doos te openen of de herinneringen eraan onder ogen te zien, maar Alex begint er stiekem in te kijken. Tussen fantasie en realiteit betreedt Alex de wereld van de tumultueuze, hartstochtelijke adolescentie van haar moeder tijdens de Libanese burgeroorlog, waarbij mysteries uit een verborgen verleden worden ontsluierd.
