The Honorary Consul (1983)
Arts Eduardo Plarr wordt in de Argentijnse stad Corrientes verliefd op de knappe Indiaanse Clara, die hij heeft ontmoet in een bordeel. Als Clara met de honorair-consul van Engeland trouwt, wordt Eduardo haar minnaar. De liefde voor Clara en de zorgen over zijn gedetineerde vader, drijven Eduardo tot een fataal politiek conflict.
