Onoda - 10 000 Nights In The Jungle (2021)
Japan, 1944. Opgeleid als inlichtingenofficier, wordt de jonge Hiroo Onoda naar een eiland in de Filipijnen gestuurd, vlak voor de Amerikaanse landing. Op Lubang is zijn taak een guerrillaoorlog te voeren tot de terugkeer van de Japanse troepen. De bevelen die hij meekrijgt, staan haaks op de officiële lijn: pleeg geen zelfmoord, houd de missie voor ogen en geef vooral nooit op. Voor het Keizerrijk is de oorlog echter bijna ten einde, voor de plichtsgetrouwe Onoda, die weigert te geloven dat zijn taak erop zit, eindigt deze pas 10.000 nachten later.
