Britt Shelley wordt wakker in bed, naast het dode lichaam van rechercheur Jay Burgess. Britt kent de man maar heeft geen idee hoe ze daar terecht is gekomen. Ze is er van overtuigd dat ze gedrogeerd is. Wanneer uit de lijkschouwing blijkt dat de rechercheur vermoord is zien ze Britt als hoofdverdachte. Vijf jaar geleden werd de vriend van Jay, Raley, ook wakker naast een dood lichaam. Nadat ze elkaars ervaringen gedeeld hebben moeten de twee het mysterie rond de moorden zien te ontrafelen.
