Meet the Applegates (1990)
Wanneer een kleine groep insecten uit een Zuid-Amerikaans regenwoud bedreigd wordt door industriële ontwikkeling, muteren ze zich in menselijke vorm en verhuizen naar een Amerikaanse 'suburb'. Vermomd als een typisch Amerikaans gezin, de Applegates, besluiten ze de wereld te straffen voor haar ecologische misdaden door een kerncentrale te vernietigen. Het begint ingewikkeld te worden wanneer de Applegates zich realiseren dat het al moeilijk genoeg is om hun insecten-identiteit te verbergen zonder dat ze een perfect gezin proberen te zijn.
