Miss Bala (2011)
Laura is een jonge meid die samen met haar vriendin Suzu wil deelnemen aan de missverkiezing Miss Baja California. Ze dringen de VIP-zone van een club binnen in de hoop in te contact te komen met een aantal machtige mannen die hen kunnen helpen om de wedstrijd te winnen. De club wordt echter onder vuur genomen door gewapende bendeleden. Laura overleeft de aanslag maar blijft in het ongewisse over het lot van haar vriendin. In een poging te achterhalen wat er gebeurd is valt Laura in handen van het drugkartel dat de aanslag heeft gepleegd en raakt samen met de charismatische maar kwaadaardige leider van het kartel steeds dieper verwikkeld in een spiraal van geweld.
