Renaissance Live BBC Sight And Sound (1977)
Renaissance is een Britse progressieve rockband die populair was in de jaren zeventig. Beschouwd als een van de beste progressieve bands van die periode, naast Yes, Pink Floyd, Genesis, Camel, Focus, Eloy en Gentle Giant. De line-up bestond uit Annie Haslam op zang, Michael Dunford op gitaar, John Tout op piano, Jon Camp op bas en zang en Terry Sullivan op drums. In de jaren zeventig had de band een commercieel succesvolle carrière. Beïnvloed door klassieke muziek, bevatten hun liedjes verwijzingen naar componisten als onder meer Bach, Chopin, Albinoni, Debussy, Rachmaninoff, Rimski-Korsakov en Prokofjev. Van 1973 tot 1977 brachten ze vier geweldige studioalbums en één livealbum uit: Ashes are Burning (73), Turn of the Cards (74), Scheherazade and Other Stories (75), Live at Carnegie Hall (76) en Novella (77). ).
