The Cardboard Lover (1928)
Een idioot Amerikaans meisje dat Monte Carlo bezoekt, wordt door een tenniskampioen ingehuurd om zijn 'kartonnen minnaar' te zijn - om te doen alsof ze verliefd op hem is, zodat hij zijn tweevoudige verloofde een lesje kan leren en haar terug kan winnen. Wat hij zich niet realiseert is dat het meisje niet doet alsof; ze is eigenlijk verliefd op hem, en ze wil hem voor zichzelf winnen.
