The Thief Who Came to Dinner (1973)
Ryan O'Neal speelt Webster McGee, een uitgebluste medewerker van Control Data die besluit ontslag te nemen en zich op de criminaliteit te storten: hij wordt juwelendief in Houston, Texas. Hij berooft een rijke zakenman, Henderling, maar naast een flinke som geld, weet hij ook bestanden te compromitteren. McGee besluit Henderling vervolgens te chanteren, niet voor geld, maar om een hoge status te verwerven waarmee hij nieuwe slachtoffers kan vinden (in de hogere kringen). Daar ontmoet hij Laura (Jacqueline Bisset), een van Henderlings medewerkers.
