Stagecoach (1939)
Een postkoets is met zeven passagiers van uiteenlopende achtergrond onderweg van Tonto, New Mexico, naar de nederzetting Lordsburg. De passagiers zijn: Dallas, een prostituée, die Tonto moet verlaten; de zwangere Lucy Mallory, vrouw van een officier in Lordsburg; Hatfield, een vlotte prater en kaartspeler, die een oogje heeft op Lucy; de arts en dronkaard Dr. Boone; de nerveuze drankhandelaar Peacock; de corrupte bankier Gatewood en de gezochte wraakzuchtige outlaw Ringo Kid, die onderweg is ingestapt. Buck is de koetsier en sheriff Willcox zit naast hem om het gezelschap te beschermen. Wat een standaard reis zou worden blijkt al snel een levensgevaarlijke rit te worden door Apachen, die onder leiding van de beruchte Geronimo op het oorlogspad zijn. De reizigers zijn om te overleven daardoor op elkaar aangewezen.
