A Love Song for Bobby Long (2004)
Wanneer ze hoort dat haar moeder overleden is, gaat de eenzame tiener Pursy Will (Scarlett Johansson) naar New Orleans om haar ouderlijk huis op te eisen. Ze verwacht een verlaten woning, maar het blijkt bewoond te zijn door twee vrienden van haar moeder: Bobby Long (John Travolta), een voormalig docent literatuur, en de jongere Lawson Pines. Deze twee gebroken mannen wonen al jaren in het vervallen huis, en het enige wat ze op de been houdt is Lawsons ambitie om een biografie over Bobby Long te schrijven. Aangezien niemand van plan is te vertrekken, moeten Pursy, Bobby en Lawson voorlopig samenwonen. Begraven onder persoonlijke geheimen, blijken hun levens op een ingewikkelde manier met elkaar verbonden te zijn.
