Thomas Jeffrey Hanks (geboren op 9 juli 1956) is een Amerikaanse acteur en filmmaker. Hanks, bekend om zijn komische en dramatische rollen, is een van de meest populaire en herkenbare filmsterren ter wereld en wordt algemeen beschouwd als een Amerikaans cultureel icoon. Hanks brak door met hoofdrollen in de komedies Splash (1984) en Big (1988).
