Jeremy Charles Robert Clarkson (geboren 11 april 1960) is een Engelse omroeper, journalist en schrijver, met een specialisatie in autorijden. Hij is het bekendst van zijn rol op de BBC TV serie Top Gear samen met co-presentators Richard Hammond en James May. Hij schrijft ook wekelijkse columns voor The Sunday Times en The Sun. Van een carrière als lokale journalist in Noord-Engeland rees Clarkson naar publieke bekendheid als presentator van het originele format van Top Gear in 1988. Sinds midden negentiger jaren is Clarkson een publieke bekendheid geworden, die regelmatig op Britse televisie verscheen waar hij zijn eigen series presenteert en als gast bij andere shows aanwezig is. Naast autorijden heeft Clarkson ook programma's gemaakt over onderwerpen als geschiedenis en techniek. Van 1998 tot 2000 had hij ook zijn eigen talkshow, Clarkson. Zijn subjectieve maar humoristische schrijf- en presenteerstijl heeft vaak voor veel publieke reacties op zijn standpunten gezorgd. Zowel zijn private acties als zijn acties als Top Gear presentator hebben soms ook geresulteerd in kritiek van de media, politici, belangengroepen en het publiek. Ondanks de kritiek de kritiek die tegen hem geuit wordt, heeft hij een significant aantal volgers gegenereerd, en wordt hij gezien als belangrijke factor in de herleving van Top Gear als een van de meest populaire shows van de BBC.
