Biografie:

Bassist, vooral bekend van de rockgroep Queen. Naast de basgitaar bespeelde hij bij enkele nummers ook gitaar of piano. Daarnaast schreef hij ook nummers van Queen. Zo was hij verantwoordelijk voor Another One Bites The Dust en I Want to Break Free, twee van de grootste hits uit de geschiedenis van de band, alsmede van You're My Best Friend (over zijn vrouw), Misfire en Spread Your Wings. Deacon speelde bij Queen zowel in de studio als tijdens liveoptredens voornamelijk met zijn Fender Precision Bass `62. Tijdens de loopbaan van Queen bewees Deacon zich niet alleen als een magnifieke bassist, maar gebruikte hij ook zijn kennis van elektronica voor het bouwen van versterkers en het experimenteren met apparatuur in de studio. Een van z'n uitvindingen was de Deacy Amp, een versterker waar hij octrooi voor aanvroeg en die nu veel wordt gebruikt.
