Дик Ван Дайк исполняет роль чудаковатого изобретателя Карактакуса Поттса, создавшего экспериментальный автомобиль и назвавший его «Пиф - паф Ой-ой-ой». Этот автомобиль не только ездит, но еще и летает, и плавает, смотря что ему закажешь. И едет он туда, куда захотят изобретатель, двое его детей и симпатичная подруга - в сказочный мир старинных замков и приключений. Именно там наша компания и встречает то и дело множество неповторимых персонажей, среди которых барон Бомбурст из Вульгарии, его хохотушка - жена, добродушный городской кукольник и ужасный похититель детей.
