Биение сердца (1946)
Молодая девушка Арлетт, сбежавшая из исправительной школы, даже не представляла, что ждет ее впереди. Став лучшей ученицей в Академии карманников, она, тем не менее, терпит неудачу при первой же попытке кражи. Ее несостоявшейся жертвой оказался посол, который, вместо того, чтобы отвести девушку в полицию, приводит ее на бал в посольство. Арлетт должна представиться племянницей барона, приятеля посла, и во время танца с молодым дипломатом вытащить у него из кармана часы и передать своему «покровителю». Таким образом посол надеется получить доказательства измены своей жены. И все бы прошло успешно, если бы Арлетт не хотела покончить со своим прошлым, и если бы не красивый молодой человек, подаривший ей первый танец на первом балу, который, кажется, тоже ею заинтересовался…
