Действие этой ленты разворачивается до событий, описанных в «Молчании ягнят» и до появления Клариссы Старлинг. Мы знакомимся с человеком, поймавшим Ганнибала Лектора, — специальным агентом ФБР Уиллом Грэмом. После ареста Лектора, который едва не стоил Грэму жизни, Уилл уходит со службы в Бюро.
