Кэри-Хироюки Тагава родился в Японии, вскоре переехал с отцом в США. В школе начал заниматься кен-до, затем занимался каратэ. Предложение сыграть роль в фильм «По велению Чингисхана» голливудская звезда считает «посланием свыше»: - До того я сыграл много плохих людей и бандитов. Но это было не моим выбором, а требованием Голливуда. Плохо, что в Америке до сих пор живуче представление о «плохом азиате». Я всегда верил в то, что могу создать образ сильного человека Азии. После двадцати лет карьеры в кино участие в таком проекте для меня имеет большое духовное значение. Эта роль - начало моего второго дыхания, как послание свыше.
