Лесли Говард (настоящая фамилия Штайнер) - британский актёр, продюсер и режиссёр. Карьера Лесли Говарда как театрального актёра началась в 1918 году. Он дебютировал на лондонской сцене в постановке британского драматурга Артура Пинеро «Уродцы». До начала 1920-х Лесли появился ещё в нескольких спектаклях, преимущественно на второстепенных ролях. В 1920 году актёр отправился в Америку, дебютировал на Бродвее в трагикомедии «Только представьте» и за десятилетие сделал отличную театральную карьеру, появившись в общей сложности в двадцати постановках. Наиболее успешными из них были «Зеленая шляпа», «Её картонный любовник» и «Побег» по пьесе Голсуорси. В 1930 году Лесли Говард дебютировал в звуковом фильме «За пределом». Снимался в фильмах «Унесённые ветром», «Пигмалион», «Ромео и Джульетта», «Интермеццо», «Животное царство» и других. 1 июня 1943 года рейс № 777 Лиссабон-Лондон, которым летел актёр, был сбит над Бискайским заливом немецким истребителем. Все погибли.
