Wie kommunizieren deutsche Paare privat? Worüber streiten sie? Geht Liebe durch den Magen? Diese doku-fiktionale Hybrid-Produktion erörtert solche Fragen anhand von authentischen Interview-schnipseln, die unter die Spielhandlung montiert wurden. Wir bekommen Einblicke in das Leben eines tierischen Paares, das stellvertretend für uns Menschen typische Alltagssituationen durchlebt. Unser Fuchs gibt sich zunächst emotional bedeckt, während die Pinguindame auch mal fuchsteufelswild wird. Mit einem Augenzwinkern halten die Filmemacher dem Publikum im Kino einen Spiegel vor.
