Der Fall Randall Adams (1988)
Im November 1976 wird der Polizist Robert W. Wood erschossen. Es gibt zwei Verdächtige: einen vorbestraften 16-jährigen und den 28-jährigen Randall Dale Adams. Letzterer wird des Mordes verurteilt und ins Gefängnis gesperrt. Regisseur Errol Morris konnte durch seine Recherchen herausfinden, dass fünf Zeugen vor Gericht falsch ausgesagt und die Polizei Beweise gefälscht hatte. Adams wurde freigelassen. Ursprünglich sollte sich die Dokumentation um den Psychiater Dr. James Grigson, Beiname Doctor Death, drehen. Fast jedem seiner wegen Mordes Angeklagten attestierte er eine Wahrscheinlichkeit von 100 %, dass dieser wieder töten werde. Nur durch einen Zufall stieß Regisseur Errol Morris auf den Fall Randall Adams.
