Prisoners (2013)
Keller Dover ist ein bibeltreuer Kriegsveteran. Der harte Kerl steht mit beiden Beinen fest im Leben. Dovers Welt gerät jedoch aus den Fugen, als seine sechsjährige Tochter Anna und deren Freundin Joy an Thanksgiving entführt werden. Es beginnt eine fieberhafte Suche, die von dem jungen und ambitionierten Detektiv Loki angeführt wird, dessen primäres Ziel es jedoch ist, endlich der Kleinstadt zu entfliehen und in eine Großstadt versetzt zu werden. Alle Spuren zu der Entführung verlaufen im Nichts. Auch den einzigen Verdächtigen, den geistig zurückgebliebenen Alex Jones, muss Loki aus Mangel an Beweisen wieder laufen lassen. Familienvater Dover fasst daraufhin einen folgenschweren Entschluss: Er will die Wahrheit auf eigene Faust herausfinden und begibt sich auf einen verhängnisvollen und gnadenlosen Weg der Selbstjustiz um die beiden kleinen Mädchen vielleicht doch noch zu finden.
