Schrill, bunt, laut und hemmungslos exhibitionistisch waren die wilden Jahre der Disco-Ära, und ihre Hauptstadt war New York. Hier in Manhattan zu Anfang der überdrehten 80er Jahre, haben die beiden Verlagsangestellten Alice und Charlotte alle Mühe, finanziell über die Runden zu kommen. Und doch käme kein anderer Ort für sie in Frage, denn hier liegt ihr Lebensmittelpunkt: die exklusivste Disco der Stadt, wo man sein muss, wenn man dazu gehören will, wo alles erlaubt ist und wo die Party niemals endet.
