Maya Memsaab (1993)
Die schöne junge Maya hat ihren Kopf voller Träume und Sehnsüchte. Eines Tages stürzt ihr Vater die Treppe herunter und bricht sich einen Fuß. Ein junger Landarzt kommt, um ihn zu behandeln. Sofort erblüht die Liebe zwischen dem Arzt und Maya und sie heiraten kurze Zeit später. Der Beginn des neuen Lebens, die Umgestaltung des Hauses und die gegenseitige Entdeckung verleiht ihren Gefühlen Euphorie. Doch allmählich setzt die Monotonie der Ehe ein. Die Langeweile der Kleinstadt und ihre Mittelklasse-Existenz bedrücken Maya und sie beginnt eine Reihe außerehelicher Affären.
