Dark Matter (2008)
Der aus einfachen Verhältnissen stammende chinesische Physikstudent Liu Xing ist der Stolz seiner Eltern und kommt 1991 nach Salt Lake City, wo ihm der renommierte Astrophysiker Reiser, Gönnerin Mrs. Silver und Kommilitonen einen herzlichen Empfang bereiten. Das Mathegenie träumt davon, das Problem der Dunklen Materie zu lösen. Dafür kritisiert er seinen Doktorvater, einen arroganten Pinsel, der ihm den Abschluss verweigert. Für den Revolutionär bricht eine Welt zusammen. Als ihn seine Eltern verstoßen, läuft er Amok.
