Clover Bend (2002)
Bill Clayton ist Meisterschütze des Los Angeles Police Department und ist ein absoluter Profi in Sachen Verbrechensbekämpfung. Doch seine gesamte Erfahrung nützt dem scheinbar unangreifbaren Cop wenig, als seine Familie und er urplötzlich in ernste Gefahr geraten. Dabei sollte es eigentlich nur der übliche jährliche Campingausflug werden, zu dem Bill mit seiner Frau Betty und den Kindern Sam und Claire aufgebrochen ist. Doch bei einem Tankstopp in der Nähe des Städtchens Clover Bend geraten die Claytons mitten in einen bewaffneten Raubüberfall des Kriminellen McGary und dessen Komplizen. McGary nimmt Betty in seine Gewalt. Angesichts der Gefahr, in der Betty schwebt, weiß Bill nicht, wie er sich verhalten soll. Bill gibt nach und legt seine Waffe nieder und setzt auf 'psychologische Kriegsführung', um die Gangster zu zermürben. Doch er erreicht genau das Gegenteil: McGary wird zunehmend aggressiver und gereizter. Die Situation droht zu eskalieren...
