Der Marketingexperte Michael macht zufällig die Bekanntschaft des geheimnisvollen, selbstsicheren Alex. Michael ist umgehend fasziniert von Alex, repräsentiert dieser doch die ihm fremde Welt der Nacht, Drogen und Obsessionen. Alex versteht es perfekt, Michael zu manipulieren. Er reißt den einstmals biederen Yuppie in einen Strudel der Amoral, der in der Ermordung der Geliebten Michaels gipfelt, die Alex Michael in die Schuhe schiebt. Michael versucht sich endgültig von Alex' verheerendem Einfluß zu befreien, indem er ihm nach Hause folgt, um belastendes Beweismaterial zu vernichten. Alex ertappt ihn.
