Cop Land (1997)
Das 1280-Einwohner-Örtchen Garrison hat eine besondere Bewandtnis. Die Einwohner sind ausnahmslos Cops aus New York und ihre Familien, die hier ihre wohlverdiente Ruhe ausleben. Doch in Cop Land ist nicht alles so sauber, wie es auf den ersten Blick erscheint – der Ort wird durch die Mafia finanziert. Als der junge Polizist Murray Babitch zwei unbewaffnete Schwarze erschießt, kommt mit dem Internal-Affairs-Agenten Moe Tilden Unruhe in den Ort. Er muß sich mit dem halbtauben Verlierertyp und Sheriff von Garrison Freddy Heflin auseinandersetzen. Dieser sieht zum ersten Mal die Gelegenheit, aus der Rolle des Losers herauszuspringen, verspürt aber gleichzeitig Loyalität zu seinen Mitbewohnern unter der Führung von Ray Donlan.
