Eine wahre Geschichte über den größten Film aller Zeiten, der nie gedreht wurde: Steven Schats träumt wie viele andere in L.A. von der ganz großen Karriere als Regisseur. Sein Traum vom ersten großen Film wird wahr, als er dem vermeindlichen Produzenten Joe Devine über den Weg läuft. Was Steven allerdings nicht weiß: Joe Devine ist FBI-Agent und benutzt die Filmproduktion ledglich als Tarnung für eine verdeckte Operation. Doch Devines Leidenschaft für den Film bringt ihn immer mehr von seinem eigentlichen Ziel ab. Und so nimmt die chaotischste Filmproduktion der letzten Jahre ihren Lauf...
