Love & Mercy (2015)
Biopic über den kalifornischen Musiker Brian Wilson, der Hits schrieb wie "Good Vibrations" und "Wouldn’t it be Nice". Mitte der 1960er: Die Beach Boys gehören zu den weltweit erfolgreichsten Bands, mit ihrem Surf-Sound sind sie Dauergäste in den Charts. Ihre Beliebtheit verdanken die Jungs nicht zuletzt dem kreativen Input Brians , der ein hohes Ziel vor Augen hat: das große Konzeptalbum "Pet Sounds", ein zusammenhängendes Kunstwerk anstelle von separaten Hits. Doch die Beach Boys straucheln unter dem Druck, den die Arbeit am Magnum Opus bedeutet, zumal Brian auch noch zunehmend den Drogen verfällt und unter seinem autoritären Vater Murry leidet. Zu Beginn der 1990er ist Brian geistig und körperlich am Ende, wird durch seinen Vormund Dr. Eugene Landy kontrolliert, der dazu bewusst überdosierte Medikamente einsetzt. Landy passt es gar nicht, dass Brian der Autoverkäuferin Melinda Ledbetter näherkommt…
