Die zwei Mrs. Carrolls (1947)
Der US-amerikanische, in London lebende Maler Geoffrey Carroll lernt Sally während eines Schottlandurlaubs kennen. Beide verlieben sich ineinander, beenden aber die Beziehung, als Sally erfährt, dass Geoffrey verheiratet ist. Geoffrey malt seine Frau als „Todesengel“ und ermordet sie mit vergifteter Milch. Er heiratet Sally und zieht mit seiner kleinen Tochter Beatrice zu ihr aufs Land. Er wird aber von einem Apotheker erpresst, der um den Mord an seiner ersten Frau weiß.
