For the Love of Spock (2016)
"For the Love of Spock“ ist eine einzigartige Dokumentation und erzählt vom Leben von Mr. Spock und des Schauspielers, der ihn fast 50 Jahre lang verkörperte, Leonard Nimoy. Der Schwerpunkt des Films lag zunächst auf der Feier des fünfzigjährigen Jubiläums von "Star Trek: The Original Series" ("Raumschiff Enterprise"), aber nachdem Lenoard Nimoy im Februar 2015 verstarb, war sein Sohn, der Regisseur Adam Nimoy bereit, eine andere Geschichte zu erzählen: seine persönlichen Erfahrungen als Heranwachsender mit Leonard und Spock. Adam zeigt nicht nur Einzelheiten der Entstehung, Entwicklung und der weitreichenden Bedeutung von Mr. Spock, sondern erzählt auch von den Höhen und Tiefen, Sohn einer TV-Ikone zu sein. "For the Love of Spock" zeigt bisher unbekanntes Filmmaterial und Interviews mit Freunden, Familie und Kollegen, u.a. William Shatner und der Original-Star Trek-Besetzung, Zachary Quinto und der neuen Enterprise-Crew, Filmemeacher JJ Abrams und Astrophysiker Neil deGrasse Tyson.
