Die zweite Wahl - Eine Romanze (1985)
Emma (Sally Field) hat endgültig die Nase voll. Nach der Scheidung zieht sie mit Sohn Jake (Corey Haim) auf eine Pferderanch nach Arizona. Dort lernt sie den 60-jährigen Drugstore-Besitzer Murphy Jones (James Garner) kennen und schätzen. Ausgerechnet jetzt taucht Emmas Ex-Mann Bobby (Brian Kerwin) auf und macht es sich in ihrem neuen Zuhause gemütlich. Er kehrt schnell zu seinen unangenehmen Gewohnheiten zurück und legt sich mit Murphy an… Mit Regisseur Martin Ritt drehte Sally Field auch das Politdrama „Norma Rae – Eine Frau steht ihren Mann“, für den sie 1979 den Oscar erhielt.
