Sumpf des Verbrechens (1949)
Mike Conovan ist mit Leib und Seele Polizei-Detective in Los Angeles. Als einer seiner Kollegen auf offener Straße erschossen wird, macht er sich auf die Suche nach dem Mörder. Noch während der schwierigen Ermittlungen gibt es weitere Opfer. Conovan steht vor einer schweren Entscheidung: er will diesen Fall lösen, doch seine Frau droht ihm, ihn zu verlassen, wenn er seinen gefährlichen Dienst nicht quittiert...
