Atemlos vor Angst (1977)
Vier Männer, die alle nach Südamerika geflohen sind, um ihren dunklen Vergangenheiten in der „Zivilisation“ zu entfliehen, haben nichts anderes mehr im Kopf, als diese unmenschliche Gegend wieder zu verlassen. Um an das benötigte Geld zu kommen, willigen sie ein, den hochexplosiven Sprengstoff Nitroglyzerin zu einer brennenden Ölquelle zu transportieren. Der Brand dort soll mit einer gewaltigen Explosion erstickt werden. Aufgrund falscher Lagerung ist der Stoff allerdings instabil geworden und droht bei der geringsten Erschütterung zu explodieren. Der Transport per Hubschrauber ist zu gefährlich und so müssen sie ihre Reise durch den Urwald mit Lastwagen antreten. Ständig durch ihre tödliche Fracht und die Tücken des Dschungels bedroht, beginnt für die Männer eine waghalsige Odyssee …
