Charmant, dieser Johnny Eager! Aber hinter der Fassade des braven Taxifahrers lauert ein Gangster mit dunklen Absichten. Johnny ist nur auf Bewährung entlassen und will sich an seinem größten Feind rächen, dem Staatsanwalt . Dafür wickelt Johnny dessen hübsche Stieftochter Lisbeth um den Finger.
