Eigentlich wollte Polizist Mike Santini mit seiner Familie nur Urlaub in der Karibik machen. Doch zufällig kann er den seit langem gesuchten Kriminellen Eddie Meyers festnehmen. Meyers wird allerdings nicht inhaftiert, sondern in ein Zeugenschutzprogramm aufgenommen. Santini soll ihn bewachen. Zwischen dem Cop und dem Gangster beginnt ein nervenzerreißendes Psychoduell.
